8-koi Selected for Streamlined Technology Acquisitions Resources for Services III (STARS III) Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACS)

8-koi is one of 426 small businesses awarded the General Services Administration Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services III (STARS III) Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs). The contract vehicle is an effort to provide agencies with more emerging technology options, completing the first phase of awards for the 8(a) STARS III GWAC, with a contract ceiling of $50 billion.

GWACs are best-in-class, easy-to-use contracts that allow agencies to procure Information Technology (IT) services from prime contractors. The 8(a) STARS III contract is for IT Services and IT Service-Based Solutions with added focus on emerging technologies and technologies outside of the continental United States.

“8-koi intends to aggressively market the contract vehicle and pursue IT opportunities government-wide,” said Dean Rosenquist, Chief Operating Officer. “Through this strategy, 8-koi can start to create an immediate positive impact to our partner agencies’ missions.”

The Small Business Administration partnered with GSA to support the small disadvantaged businesses that received awards in keeping with President Biden’s January executive order to improve racial equity. 8-koi was first certified as an 8(a) small business in 2013. Due to the impacts of COVID and federal contracting in 2020, the company will retain eligibility until April 2023.
